Technical Director

This position is responsible for providing a leadership role in technical areas, including planning and development, projects and construction, and liquefied gases (LNG/LPG). The purpose of this position is to conceptualize, engineer design, materials specifications & plan, and govern an integrated project management process to manage significant projects related to construction, system enhancement, and rehabilitation from start to finish.

The Technical Director will oversee the management of LPG/Air Mix Plants, LNG shippers, terminals, and market players. This includes providing insight into the ways in which SSGC may optimize the potential of liquefied gas business. Additionally, the Technical Director will collaborate with top leadership for formulation of system enhancement and improvement projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that gas transmission network capacity and configuration is adequate to fulfill operational requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Review network performance on a continual basis and organize planning of new projects accordingly.
  • Oversee and guide teams in processing of gas sale and purchase agreements, safeguarding company interests.
  • Lead installation and upgrades of transmission lines projects and high-pressure distribution lines according to international industry codes and standards.
  • Organize construction of SSGC's field offices, regional offices, stores, residential, and other office buildings.
  • Review management and supply of Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) to customers through SSGC pipelines according to annual demand and supply plans.
  • Direct planning and operations of LPG Air Mix Plants (AMP) producing Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) injected into distribution networks.
  • Implement company vision, culture, and performance standards, ensuring adoption at all levels of the division.
  • Oversee recruitment of management personnel guaranteeing optimal execution of duties within the division.
  • Act as mentor for key personnel within the division for capacity enhancement and career growth.
  • Ensure improvement in skills of key personnel for effective succession planning.
  • Define structure and execution of strategic initiatives through work plans, data gathering, analysis, and actionable recommendations.
  • Provide short and long-term strategic recommendations to top management and division executives regarding operations improvement, cost control, and capitalizing opportunities.
  • Evaluate and recommend strategies, concepts, practices, programs, processes, and measures across the division.
  • Establish performance measures determining effectiveness of implemented policies and identify areas for strategic improvement.
  • Work with division executives and stakeholders evaluating overall performance against targets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) measured against division performances and determine effectiveness of implemented strategies.
  • Draft regular analysis reports for Managing Director, Board of Directors, and relevant stakeholders for further decision-making purposes.
