Tunnel Design Expert Wanted
We are seeking an experienced Tunnel Design Engineer for one of our hydropower projects based in KPK Province, Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and undertake detailed design & planning, and execution of tunnel structures as part of the hydropower project
2. Supervise the execution of the tunnel activities undertaken by contractor, lead and guide the team of local engineers for effective supervision of the works
3. Recommend/Approve Scope of work for additional investigations for underground works i.e. tunnels, shafts etc.
4. Review of the geology and geotechnical information relating to tunnels and power intake structure
5. Approve drilling programme regarding underground investigation requirements
6. Review of Design and layouts of all of the tunnelling and related works for the project
7. Review, suggest and monitor safety measures for staff, materials and works
8. Prepare technical reports, if necessary, relating to tunnel design or execution of the tunnel works
9. Checking of the diversion and power intake drawings prepared by the CAD Operators
10. Input to the Site Design Group for the assessment of required design updating
11. Preparation of FEA model using actual field data
12. Perform technical assessments and analyses related to tunnel construction and stability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent in related discipline from an Internationally recognized institution or HEC/PEC.
- Minimum of 20 years of professional experience.
- Should have at least 15 years of expertise in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in the design and construction of tunnels for dams and hydropower projects.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and tunneling methods.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
