Software Development Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced software development specialist to design, develop, test, and support applications that meet business requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, documentation skills, and the ability to work within a structured framework using customer-defined tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-level and low-level design documents to inform application development.
  • Deliver code and configuration updates aligned with requirements and design specifications.
  • Perform unit testing, component integration testing, and happy scenario testing with documented proof of results.
  • Create, maintain, and update project documentation and system-specific service documentation for easy access by all stakeholders.
  • Prepare release notes, installation guides, operation procedures, release build & packaging, and operational handover documentation for seamless application deployment.
  • Generate regular and on-demand project updates, delivery reports, and status of points planned/consumed/available to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct proof of concepts, solution capability checks, and validations when required to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer restricted to project/enhancement functional scope and new/updated functionalities to upskill team members.
  • Work with customer-specified tools and frameworks (e.g., JIRA, Bitbucket) to streamline development and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field to provide a solid foundation in software development principles.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in software development and solution design to demonstrate expertise in application development.
  • Strong expertise in Java and .NET application development to leverage established technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient testing and deployment.
  • Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, Git, and DevOps frameworks to enhance collaboration and productivity.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
