The Chief Financial Officer role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the company's financial operations are sound and aligned with its overall strategy and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing the company's financial strategy, including managing financial risks, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the company is financially stable.
  • Overseeing the preparation of the company's financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and ensuring that they are accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with PCAs, AFEs, and JV budgets approved in operating committee meetings.
  • Developing the company's annual budget and long-term financial forecasts, and ensuring that the company operates within prudent financial constraints.
  • Managing the company's capital structure, including raising capital, managing debt, and making investment decisions that maximize shareholder value.
  • Identifying and managing financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Ensuring robust accounting practices and financial controls are in place, compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Leading the finance team and ensuring they operate effectively and deliver high-quality financial services to the organization.

  • Financial acumen: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial management.
  • Strategic thinking: The ability to think strategically and align the organization's financial strategy with its overall business objectives and goals.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead and manage a finance team, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure that the team operates effectively and delivers high-quality financial services to the organization.
  • Risk management: The ability to identify and manage financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk.

A member of a recognized body of professional accountants with at least five (05) years relevant experience; or a person holding a master degree in finance from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission with at least ten (10) years relevant experience.
