Assistant Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing bank payments, and reconciling ledger accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bank payments efficiently and accurately, adhering to company policies.
  • Handle vendor payments, verifying invoices and reconciling payments to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile ledger accounts related to vendors, ensuring consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Assist in tax calculations and preparations, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Generate stock reports to provide insights into inventory levels and assist in inventory management decisions.
  • Book vendor invoices promptly and accurately, maintaining proper documentation and records.
  • Deduct taxes from vendor payments as required by tax regulations and ensure proper documentation of tax deductions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B. Com), Business Administration (BBA), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role.
  • Proficiency in bank payment processing and vendor payment procedures.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of tax calculations and reporting.
  • Ability to generate and analyze stock reports.
  • Familiarity with vendor invoice processing and documentation.
  • Understanding of tax deduction procedures from vendor payments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
