Job Title: Surgical Educator
About the Role:- We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Surgical Educator to join our faculty.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in general surgery and a proven track record of academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lecture Delivery: Teach MBBS/BDS students, including seminars, clinical and practical skills sessions, small group discussions, evaluations, and assessments.
- Postgraduate Training: Facilitate postgraduate trainees (FCPS and MCPS) in clinical presentation, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, Journal Club, psychomotor skills training, and preparation for examinations and dissertations.
- Departmental Support: Assist the Head of Department/Professor in organizing CPC/clinical meetings and conferences in collaboration with other professional organizations.
- Research and Development: Coordinate and support faculty members and postgraduate trainees in research and development activities, including publication requirements and career development.
- Clinical Skills: Teach basic management of common patient care problems, emergency treatment, and decision-making for appropriate treatment.
- Outpatient Care: Ensure regular outpatient department (OPD) sessions for ongoing medical care and supervise new patient referrals for specialist advice.
- Inpatient Care: Conduct ward rounds to monitor and manage inpatient care.
- Medical Procedures: Perform medical procedures in the ward under senior consultants' supervision and ensure diagnostics and investigations are carried out appropriately.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in on-call duties after regular hours to provide round-the-clock care for critical patients.
- Departmental Inquiries: Assist in departmental inquiries related to mortalities.
- Staff Supervision: Manage, supervise, and train postgraduate students, medical officers, house officers, and paramedical staff to ensure quality patient care and enhance their management skills.
