About the Role

The Human Resource Officer role at Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan involves supporting global HR projects in data collection and analysis, templating information from seven countries/regions, and coordinating project meetings. Based at Central Office in Karachi, this role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional.

The successful candidate will assist in gathering and compiling data from market-based compensation surveys, conduct research on HR practices and employee benefits, and support the review of grading structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Actively participate in various global HR projects, contributing to their successful completion.
  • Data Collection: Solicit and consolidate data for the various projects by coordinating with project teams and HR teams in 7 countries/regions.
  • Research and Analysis: Assist in gathering and compiling data from market-based compensation surveys; support analysis and help monitor trends to inform compensation planning discussions with senior HR staff.
  • Policy Review: Conduct research on HR practices and employee benefits within comparator organizations and AKDN agencies; summarize findings to support policy and benefit review proposals.
  • Grading Structure Alignment: Support the review of grading structures by preparing comparison data and identifying discrepancies, contributing to alignment efforts across AKHS units and other AKDN entities.
  • Job Evaluation: Support the job evaluation project team, using established methodologies and tools.
  • Job Description Maintenance: Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions, ensuring alignment with AKHS institutional structure and requirements.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain project files, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Independently coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including agenda development, materials preparation, minute-taking, and action item follow-up.
  • Best Practices Research: Research the best practices relevant to the assigned project.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to data management, project coordination, or reporting.
  • Presentation and Reporting: Support in creating impactful presentations and reports summarizing project findings and progress.
  • Confidentiality and Data Protection: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee data and HR information.
Education, Experience & Competencies
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's or preferably Master's degree in HR or in relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in Human Resource Management. Experience of working with international teams will be advantageous.
  • Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of HR principles and procedures.
  • Initiative and Motivation: A self-starter with a high level of initiative and motivation and a strong work ethic.
  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Technical Ability: Technical ability and willingness to learn new systems as required for the role.
