Job Title:

GBV Specialist

Role Overview

This position is responsible for leading the operations' efforts to prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in KP Province, while ensuring the implementation of a community- and rights-based approach. The GBV Specialist will work directly with communities and persons of concern to identify risks and ensure timely and effective GBV prevention and response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the implementation of GBV programmes for the operation, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
  • Provide technical advice to other technical units to support GBV mainstreaming throughout the operation.
  • Contribute to strengthening of GBV coordination mechanisms throughout the operation.
  • Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • General knowledge of International Protection related to refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons, and others with whom UNHCR works in KP Province.
  • Knowledge of GBV, particularly in protracted refugee situations.
  • Demonstrated use of UNHCR and Interagency GBV/CP tools and guidance.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
