Job Title: AI Procurement Specialist

The role of an AI Procurement Specialist revolves around supporting electrical engineers by identifying, evaluating, and recommending materials, components, and vendors that meet project requirements. This includes ensuring technical compatibility, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

This position entails collaborating with internal teams and procurement specialists to optimize sourcing strategies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Electrical Design Team in creating assembly drawings for complete equipment schedules to reduce processing time for equipment take offs using Esticom. Additionally, they will coordinate with Procurement for regular updates to Procore cost catalog and assemblies.

The key responsibilities of this role include optimizing and standardizing electrical component selection to balance cost, performance, and availability. The specialist will review Esticom take offs and generate a complete BOM and BOQ for a project. They will also identify and evaluate suppliers based on technical compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Apart from these tasks, the AI Procurement Specialist will review vendor technical documentation, material specifications, and certifications. They will explore and implement AI-powered tools for process improvement, automation, and standardization. Furthermore, they will ensure selected components and materials align with engineering design and project needs. The specialist will provide technical justifications for supplier selection and collaborate with the Value Engineering team to identify cost-saving opportunities in sourcing.

Key skills and qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in electrical design, procurement, supply chain, or vendor evaluation within the electrical industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD and related Autodesk software and ERP systems is also essential. Knowledge of AI-driven procurement technologies or experience working with data-driven decision-making tools is highly valued. Demonstrated electrical, structural, and mechanical design skills are necessary for this role. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills are also required.
