Job Title: Backend Technical Lead

We are seeking a seasoned technical lead to spearhead our backend engineering efforts.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software development principles, leadership skills, and the ability to drive technical strategy forward.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a distributed backend engineering team to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, balancing workload while maintaining momentum on technical debt reduction.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and collaborate with Product teams to design and develop new features.
  • Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews and feedback.
  • Handle complex, high-priority technical implementations.
  • Oversee release and deployment processes to ensure stability.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and work to reduce errors.
  • Conduct meaningful 1:1s, mentoring and coaching engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in backend software development at scale.
  • Deep expertise in Java and Spring Framework.
  • Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platforms.
  • Track record of resolving technical and process bottlenecks.
  • Leadership skills, preferably across multiple geographies.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
