Quality Assurance Expert Job Description

Job Summary:

This is a critical role for delivering reliable and actionable feedback to enhance trade and tax facilitation measures.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with various stakeholders to refine survey tools through pilot testing.
  2. Enforce data privacy and ethical standards, monitor fieldwork to prevent fraud, and resolve logistical hurdles.
  3. Clean raw data by removing duplicates and inconsistencies, cross-check survey results with operational data, and validate findings through focus groups.
  4. Mitigate biases, help translate technical insights into policy recommendations, and support stakeholder workshops to drive meaningful reforms.
Requirements:
  • Master's or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Taxation, Customs/Trade, Business Administration, or any related field.
  • Specialisation in survey methodology, data analysis, or Monitoring & Evaluation is essential.
  • Proven expertise in taxation, customs, trade facilitation, or anti-smuggling.
  • At least 10 years' work experience in government agencies and 5 years of experience for/with international development projects.
  • Strong track record in quality assurance (QA) for data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with digital survey platforms.
  • Knowledge of sampling techniques, questionnaire design, and data validation.
  • Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to train teams, troubleshoot fieldwork issues, and ensure ethical compliance.
