Job Title: Data Center Operations Specialist

Background on Technical Environment:

The enterprise data center portfolio encompasses a diverse range of facilities globally, from dedicated owned and operated sites to colocation facilities with varying footprints. Our organization is responsible for the Firm's global data center portfolio, one of several towers under the Core Infrastructure division.

Primary Responsibilities include receipt, breakdown and inventory system logging of decommissioned data center assets, validating upstream records meet decommission scope and technology goods receiving requirements, and ensuring persistent storage components are timely separated from parent devices, scanned and logged into the appropriate inventory system.

Qualifications – Skills required:

  • Extensive familiarity with computer hardware such as chassis, hard drives, memory cards, power supplies, printers, monitors, and ancillary devices, along with experience in assembly and disassembly.
  • Ability to read, create, and update standard flowcharts using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Excellent reading and analytical skills to review operational process documents, provide feedback on their effectiveness, and update them when necessary.
  • The ability to take and maintain meticulous notes and records of activities.

CORE/TECHNICAL SKILLS include proficiency in ServiceNow or related ticketing systems, Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formatting), Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio, and Microsoft Outlook.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent teamwork skills, capability of working effectively across various IT and Business groups, across regions and roles, and being able to interact effectively with all management levels.

Additional qualifications include education to degree level, proven ability to comply with and execute on IT Asset Procedures, and capability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
