Steam Generation and Distribution Specialist Job Description

As a Steam Generation and Distribution Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of boilers/chillers and implementing preventive and breakdown maintenance activities related to steam generation and distribution. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting engineers in safe operation and maintenance of boilers/chillers and related equipment in shifts.
  • Arranging materials and other logistics beforehand for scheduled PPMs and working shoulder to shoulder with engineers to meet emergency breakdown situations.
  • Identifying major problems of plants and monitoring rectification of the same in consultation with engineers.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of boilers/chillers and ancillary equipment to ensure safety of equipment and manpower in plant rooms.
  • Ensuring adherence to plant safety programs and meeting performance standards.
  • Interacting with maintenance control rooms and engineers for feedback and initiating action.
  • Monitoring and managing staff and providing training to them on critical equipment in plant rooms.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in mechanical technology, preferably, and more than 10 years of related work experience managing steam generation and distribution systems in a process plant, hotel, or hospital environment. Additionally, they should have knowledge about safe operation and maintenance of boilers/chillers and ancillary equipment, as well as good skills of leading a team.
