Australia Awards are provided to build skills and knowledge of individuals contributing to their country's development. The program supports links between Australia and recipient countries, focusing on public and economic diplomacy.

This role is part of Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia (AASAM), administered by Palladium on behalf of the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). AASAM aims to support partner countries in achieving development goals through education and knowledge transfer, building enduring relationships with Australia.

The Program Officer will support the Country Program Manager in managing finance and administration, providing support in Australia Awards Scholarships, Short Course Awards, and Australian Professional Opportunities management. They will also maintain alumni engagement, communicate with target audiences, and engage stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Country Program Manager in managing program finances and administration.
  • Providing support in Australia Awards Scholarships, Short Course Awards, and Australian Professional Opportunities management.
  • Maintaining alumni engagement and communication with target audiences.
  • Engaging stakeholders and developing communication products, including alumni stories/profiles.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Business Management, or a related social science discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working across cultures with diverse clients.
  • Demonstrated excellence in client and stakeholder relationship management.
  • High-level English writing and speaking skills.
  • Experience writing reports for clients and key stakeholders.
  • A high standard of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, internet, and email experience.
  • Knowledge of practical business principles and practice.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to gender and inclusion.

Desirable Qualifications
  • A post-graduate qualification in one of the listed fields.
  • Experience in consulting and negotiating with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
