Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to head our cloud portfolio, overseeing the evaluation process for selecting, implementing, and maintaining best-in-class cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams to manage the development of scalable architecture, ensuring seamless integration with applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Assurance: Provide assurance of the platforms underpinning critical business services, working in various service and project teams to create, update, implement, and tune platforms as part of projects and change programs.
  • Cloud Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy that aligns with our organization's goals and other strategies.
  • Solution Design and Implementation: Oversee the design and implementation of solutions within cloud platforms/services, ensuring availability and stability of all cloud services.
  • Change Impact Analysis: Carry out advanced impact analysis to understand how change will affect different components and produce estimates for planned changes to cloud platforms and services.
  • Governance and Maintenance: Oversee the governance and maintenance of cloud platforms and services, ensuring security measures are implemented to grant appropriate access and maintain system integrity.
  • Standards Development: Drive the development and implementation of standards of best practice in the cloud platforms within our organization.
  • Recommendations and Challenges: Make recommendations and challenge and persuade others when standards are not followed or opinions differ.
Additional Accountabilities:
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Maintain a detailed understanding of developments in the use of cloud technologies in delivering business objectives.
  • Policy Compliance: Work within policies, standing orders, financial regulations, and legislative requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for all cloud platforms and services.
  • Task Completion: Complete assigned tasks to a high quality and within agreed timelines, proposing improvements to enhance own and business areas.
  • Development and Training: Actively identify development and training needs within this specialism to develop skills in Cloud Technologies.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
  • Leadership: Lead and manage the cloud team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Culture Fostering: Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Partnerships: Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, and business leaders, to align cloud solutions with organizational goals.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Reporting: Develop and present regular reports on cloud performance, costs, and security metrics to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Cloud Strategy & Operations:
  • Strategy Definition: Define and execute the organization's cloud strategy, including migration, optimization, and innovation initiatives.
  • Cloud Optimization: Monitor cloud usage and optimize for cost efficiency without compromising performance.
