Job Description

Seeking an experienced Critical Care Ventilator Specialist to manage assigned patients in a Medical Critical Care Complex.

The selected candidate will provide comprehensive ventilator management, including airway management, oxygen therapy escalation/de-escalation, intubation, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, hourly assessments, blood gas sampling and interpretation, and adjustment of ventilatory parameters in consultation with specialists.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • One-year post-house job experience in managing patients on ventilators and NIV in a critical care setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy (B.S.) with one-year house job in a recognized tertiary care institution.
  • Credentialed experience in arterial catheter placement.

Responsibilities include managing airways, assisting with intubation, suctioning, and ventilator support. The selected candidate will also care for patients requiring oxygen therapy or airway assistance, maintain records of ventilator status, update daily functional assessments, extubation checklists, and incident reports for ventilated patients.

Additionally, the candidate will participate in educational activities related to airway management, suctioning, intubation, NIV, and ventilator settings. They will learn and assist in airway management procedures, including intubation, and ensure safe transportation of critically ill patients requiring ventilatory support.
