Deputy Accounts Specialist

Responsibilities
  1. Financial Audits: Undertaking independent checks of an organisation's financial position;
  2. Financial System Management: Continuous management of financial systems and budgets;
  3. Financial Reports: Preparing financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting;
  4. Tax and Treasury Issues: Advising on tax and treasury issues;
  5. Supplier Negotiations: Negotiating terms with suppliers;
  6. Audit Liaison: Liaising with internal and external auditors and dealing with any financial irregularities as they arise;
  7. Internal Audit Reports: Producing reports and recommendations following internal audits or public-sector audits;
  8. Financial Statements: Preparing financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts;
  9. Clients and Financial Information: Liaising with clients (individuals or businesses) and providing financial information and advice;
  10. System Review and Risk Analysis: Reviewing the company's systems and analysing risk;
  11. Financial Information Verification: Performing tests to check financial information and systems;
  12. Business Transactions and Mergers: Advising clients on business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions (corporate finance);
  13. Business Improvement and Insolvency: Advising clients on areas of business improvement, or dealing with insolvency;
  14. Fraud Detection and Prevention: Detecting and preventing fraud (forensic accounting);
  15. Team Management: Managing junior colleagues;
  16. Tax Planning and Compliance: Advising clients on tax planning (within current legislation to enable them to minimise their tax liability) and tax issues associated with activities such as business acquisitions and mergers;
  17. Accounting Records and Reporting: Maintaining accounting records and preparing accounts and management information for small businesses (accountancy).
