We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our innovative ride-hailing team. In this role, you will design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop software solutions that meet the required specifications, with an emphasis on efficiency, scalability and durability.
  • Maintain and enhance a highly transactional Java platform, building new microservices as needed.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team of like-minded individuals who share a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the platform, implement operational efficiencies and introduce technical debt reduction strategies.
  • Design and deliver performant, scalable and highly transactional software that meets both functional and non-functional requirements, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Estimate, prioritize and execute tasks within a fast-paced environment, supporting the execution of production deployments and go-lives.
  • Contribute to team meetings, troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to understand full-stack functionality and architecture.
  • Share ideas for technological and product enhancements to improve the overall app experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advancements, implementing improvements after research and development.
  • Maintain adherence to engineering processes such as code reviews, source control, unit testing, use case analysis, defect management, continuous integration and deployment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Commercial experience in Java, preferably 2-4 years.
  • Proven expertise in Spring Frameworks, including Spring Boot, Spring Security and Spring Data.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, UNIX-based operating systems and microservices.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, design patterns, SOLID principles, transaction management and development best practices.
  • Innovative approach towards problem-solving and finding solutions.
  • Flexible and proactive self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution.
  • Good understanding of code versioning tools like Git.
  • Knowledge of static and dynamic code analysis and CICD pipeline.
  • Able to estimate, prioritize and execute tasks either by pair programming or single-handedly within a high-pressure environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A team player with enthusiasm for delivering results.
