Job Summary

The Institute for Global Health and Development seeks a highly skilled professional to supervise project activities related to field and data management. The ideal candidate will ensure quality control and maintain good working relationships with staff, community, and various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate with university departments for timely completion of grant checklist processes;
  • Advise and guide principal investigators on sponsored projects administration;
  • Act as liaison between principal investigators and the office of research and graduate studies to resolve pressing concerns in time for meeting submission deadlines;
  • Conduct regular sessions for principal investigators and senior research staff on dynamics and updates in due diligence processes;
  • Review proposals in light of institutional and prospective granting agency requirements;
  • Liaise with the legal department and stay updated on frequent developments in research and grants administration;
  • Assist in resolving modifications issues involving contacting funding agencies;
  • Review specific terms and conditions to answer questions regarding allowability of expenses;
  • Ensure that each project ends with a closeout process, completing all work, submitting required reports, and resolving outstanding financial matters;
  • Ensure that all active projects have valid ERC, sending regular progress reports and informing ERC about changes in proposals;
  • Coordinate between other departments to ensure research grants comply with regulatory requirements of granting agencies;
  • Manage pre-award grants administration of around 54 active grants;
  • Mentor 3-4 staff members working in research administration;
  • Travel to various field sites as required.
