Job Title: Pharmaceutical Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Dispensing drugs in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory pharmacies
  • Reviewing and processing physician orders for accurate therapeutic dosing
  • Monitoring lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interactions, and duplication of same class medications
  • Ensuring timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients
  • Verifying the accuracy of medication labels before dispensing
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of expired medications
  • Providing patient counseling on prescription medications and monitoring cash management
  • Preparing sterile injections, bulk compounding, and monitoring chemotherapy critical lists
  • Managing inventory and expirations of medications
Requirements
  • A Doctorate or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
  • Traineeship experience in retail pharmacy or a medium/large hospital setting
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations
  • Solid knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences
  • Familiarity with locally available medications, their indications, and potential side effects
  • Effective communication skills with medical professionals
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts
