Virtual Medical Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Virtual Medical Assistant to support healthcare providers with administrative and clinical tasks remotely. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office or virtual care environment and be well-versed in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, scheduling, patient coordination, and HIPAA compliance.

This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work U.S.-based hours (Central, Eastern, and Pacific Time Zones). Bilingual skills in English and another language are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling for patients.
  • Verify patient insurance and eligibility prior to appointments.
  • Conduct patient intake calls, collect medical history, and document information accurately in the EHR system.
  • Handle inbound and outbound patient communications (calls, texts, and emails).
  • Assist in prescription refills and prior authorizations under physician supervision.
  • Coordinate referrals, lab tests, imaging, and follow-up care.
  • Prepare and update patient charts, progress notes, and documentation before provider visits.
  • Support telehealth sessions by guiding patients with setup and troubleshooting basic tech issues.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinical setting, or virtual healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks, Athena, Kareo, or similar.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality requirements.
