Process Engineer - Plastics Thermoforming

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to the organization as the expert in thermoforming processes and tooling operation, design, maintenance, and repair. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support and guidance to ensure efficient process operations, quality control, and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, and delivery performance through proper investigation and data-driven approaches.
  • Developing and implementing process improvements, projects, and initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and promote sustainable practices.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members on project progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Designing and implementing new thermoform tooling and troubleshooting current tooling and process issues.

This position requires a strong understanding of plastics engineering principles, lean manufacturing concepts, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a related manufacturing environment and proficiency in Solid Works, AutoCAD, Epicor MRP, and Microsoft Office.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and developing validation protocols, reports, and providing objective evidence that equipment, processes, test methods, and products meet minimum requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records of processes, materials, and equipment, including drawings, protocols, completion reports, and specifications.
  • Working independently and collaboratively to achieve goals, resolving complex problems, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of plastics process engineering experience required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
