Data Quality Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across our platform. Your expertise in Big Data testing and Azure services will be instrumental in designing and executing tests for data validation, storage, and retrieval. Collaborating with our development teams, you will assess changes in data workflows and update test cases to preserve data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement test scripts to validate data pipelines, transformations, and integrations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, including smoke, performance, functional, and regression testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Big Data testing, Azure services, and related technologies.
  • Document and communicate testing progress and findings to stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with business analysts and technology teams to develop and refine testing processes and procedures.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Azure Data Lake platform's data landscape to inform testing efforts.
Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of experience in QA or related field, with a strong focus on Big Data testing and Azure services.
  • Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Databricks for big data processing and scaled data quality checks.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience writing and optimizing queries for data validation and testing.
  • Proficient in PySpark, with experience in data manipulation and transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with Functional & system integration testing in big data environments.
  • Knowledge of behavior-driven development and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and experience with X-Ray or Jira Zephyr for defect management.
  • Proven experience working on high-traffic and large-scale software products.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
