Job Description

The role of a Speech Therapist is to assess and treat patients with communication disorders, including speech, language, and swallowing difficulties. This involves conducting thorough evaluations, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering targeted therapies to improve patients' auditory comprehension, visual reading perception, oral motor strength, coordination, and symmetry.

In addition to assessment and treatment, the Speech Therapist will also be responsible for writing patient progress notes, collaborating with medical personnel, educating patients and their families about their conditions and treatment plans, and participating in ongoing training and research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing patients and developing individualized treatment plans to address speech, language, and swallowing challenges
  • Delivering evidence-based therapies to improve patients' communication skills and overall quality of life
  • Liaising with medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective treatment outcomes
  • Educating patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis
  • Participating in staff development and continuing education to stay current on best practices and research findings
