Job Description

The Inventory and Procurement Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of inventory costs, procurement spending, and related transactions. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory costing methods, procurement processes, and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including purchases, receipts, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries related to inventory transactions.
  • Analyze inventory turnover and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.

Procurement Accounting:

  • Review and process purchase orders, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with company policies.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving reports.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Analyze procurement spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, valuation, and turnover.
  • Provide insights to management on inventory and procurement performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to inventory and procurement.
