Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and corporate policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Payroll Management:
    • Oversight of end-to-end payroll processing for all employees in India.
    • Timely and accurate calculation of employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions.
    • Management of monthly payroll runs, off-cycle payments, and year-end processes.
  • Compliance and Regulations:
    • Ensuring payroll complies with statutory requirements including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Income Tax (TDS), and Labor Welfare Fund (LWF).
    • Staying updated on changes in labor laws, tax laws, and government policies related to payroll.
    • Timely filing of statutory reports and payments to relevant government authorities.
  • Employee Records:
    • Maintenance of accurate employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes.
    • Oversight of the processing of employee benefits, leave encashment, gratuity, etc.
    • Collaboration with the HR department to ensure seamless employee onboarding and exit formalities in relation to payroll.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Management of relationships with payroll software vendors and other third-party providers.
    • Ensuring the payroll system is functioning efficiently and resolving any system-related issues.
  • Auditing and Reporting:
    • Conducting regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Preparation and provision of payroll-related reports and metrics to senior management.
    • Assistance during internal and external audits.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuous review and improvement of payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
    • Implementation of automation and streamlining of workflows where possible.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Leadership and mentoring of a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance and support.
    • Ensuring the payroll team meets deadlines and maintains high levels of accuracy and service quality.
  • Employee Query Management:
    • Addressing payroll-related queries from employees and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Providing guidance to employees regarding salary calculations, deductions, and statutory compliance.
    Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a Master or Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, Finance, MBA, or CA (inter) or equivalent.
