About the Role

The Account Assistant position is a full-time contract that requires exceptional financial management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process various bills, including POL, TA/DA, Rent, telephone, electricity, Gas, medical bills, and miscellaneous staff claims.
  • Manage pay bills for officers and staff.
  • Oversee Pension Claims and submit Pension Accounts to the finance office on a monthly basis.
  • Make entries in IOT DR/CR Incoming record register.
  • Make entries in IOT DR/CR Outgoing register.
  • Prepare and issue Debit and Credit Advices.
  • Issue S. S. Cheques.
  • Develop budget estimates for the Financial Year and distribute budget grants allocated by FDI.
  • Process Asset Accounts on a monthly basis as required by FDI.
  • Prepare computerized Trial Balance on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain manual General Ledger for Trial Balance preparation.
  • Maintain Sub Ledger and primary entry books timely.
  • Prepare Ledger posting summaries.
  • Maintain Officer/Official Salary Audit Register.
  • Prepare and maintain Budget Vs expenditure Control Register.
  • Submit monthly accounts to Finance Director.
  • Respond to Audit Para, advance Para, and Draft Para relating to Accounts.
  • Support allocated division tasks.
  • Process Fund requisition.
  • Material Indent.
  • Stores Requisition.
  • Super-Scribed Cheque.
  • Stores Received Register.
  • Stores Issued Register.
  • Purchase Order.
  • Pay Bill Audit Register.
  • Prepare Debit/Credit Advance Summary.
  • Journal.
  • Ledger - General/Subsidiary.
  • Ledger — Development Works / Operations.
  • Ledger — General.
  • Ledger — Deposit Works.
  • List for Ledger Balance.
  • Trial Balance.
  • Service Connection Cost.
  • Summary of Arrears
  • Divisional Balance Sheet.
  • Divisional Operating Expense Statement.
  • Expense Statement.
  • Work-In-Progress Statement.
  • Works Order Summary.
  • Other accounting activities assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of Relevant/Business experience in Account/Finance.
  • Familiarity with Industry Practices.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-leading.
  • Service-oriented attitude.
  • Able to adapt to changes quickly.

Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
