Manual QA Engineer

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated professional to contribute to our software quality. Manual testing plays a critical role in ensuring that software applications meet the required standards of functionality, usability, and overall user experience.

About the Role:
  • This position involves planning, executing, and reporting manual test cases for various software applications.
  • The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and be familiar with defect tracking systems such as JIRA or TestRail. Additionally, they should possess basic knowledge of SQL and database query skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Test Planning and Execution: Develop, document, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and technical specifications.
  2. Execute manual test cases and report test results in a timely manner.
  3. Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects and issues in the defect tracking system.
  4. Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback.
  5. Participate in requirement and design review meetings to ensure alignment.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed reports on testing progress, coverage, and results to the QA Manager and team members.
  7. Evaluate software functionality to ensure it meets specified requirements and is free of defects.
  8. Validate user expectations during the testing process.
  9. Verify fixes for defects to ensure they meet quality standards.
  10. Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation for all test activities.
  11. Communicate test results, analysis, and recommendations effectively.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a Manual QA Tester or similar role with demonstrated expertise.
  2. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  3. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  4. Proficiency in test management tools and defect tracking systems.
  5. Basic understanding of SQL and ability to query databases.
