The role requires use of relevant data to develop credit risk scoring models, provide insights to influence credit decisioning, and execute end-to-end data science projects using a proven structure and methodology approach.

Key accountabilities include defining data modelling requirements, developing scorecard models, utilizing internal and external data sources, working on big data environments, and supporting implementation teams on model testing processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or a related quantitative field, and at least 4 years of experience in a commercial banking environment.

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of proven data science and analytics performance.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL queries, and OLAP cubes.
  • Development of Credit Score Cards is a requirement.
  • Experience with common Data Science toolkits, such as R, Python, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, etc.
  • Excellence in R and/or Python is highly desirable.
  • Risk analytics expertise, including model development, strategy, framework, scorecard development, documentation, validation, governance, implementation, and automation.
  • Machine Learning modelling techniques.
  • Understanding credit bureaus and non-traditional data providers.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Applied Statistics skills, Scripting and Programming skills.
  • Agile Software Development process and performance metric tools.
  • Machine learning techniques and Algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM and Decision Forests.
  • Data concepts and experience in data management capabilities.

  • Data governance issues, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry information affecting the business environment.
