Leadership Opportunity

The Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty seeks an exceptional academic leader to serve as Dean. As a senior administrator, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the faculty's strategic direction, fostering excellence in research and teaching, and promoting collaboration across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To formulate and implement the faculty's 5-year plans in line with the University's strategic targets.
  • To exercise supervisory control over the academic and non-academic staff of the faculty.
  • To appraise and assign KPIs to Faculty teams on personal and career development plans collaboratively with HODs/Regional Directors.
  • To prepare annual budgets detailing variables of finance and new and existing programs with clear projections.
  • To facilitate VC Office, DVC-Academics, and HDS departments regarding appointments as per university guidelines and rules.
  • To ensure supervision of arrangements through Director/Principal/HOD office for the smooth conduct of examinations.
  • To ensure assignment of responsibilities to all teaching and non-teaching staff in consultation with faculty Regional Director/Director/Principal/HOD at all geographic locations.
  • To review/approve course offering, course allocations, and timetables prepared by the respective HOD.
  • To permit students to proceed on industrial and study tours on the recommendation of Director/Principal/HOD.
  • To allocate responsibilities to employees in addition to their own duties when required.
  • To chair committees, wherever required, at university/faculty level and participate in departmental decision-making and governance.

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree (local/international) in relevant field from HEC recognized university/institute.
  • Proven record of academic achievement, such as high impact factor publications, research, and teaching experience as per HEC.
  • Leadership Experience: Extensive experience in academic administration or senior leadership roles within an educational institution, minimum 5 to 10 years.
  • Teaching and Research Experience: A strong background in teaching, research, and mentoring students and faculty members.
  • Experience in Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Ability to manage financial resources for the faculty, ensuring the effective distribution of funds for academic and research purposes.
  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to set and execute long-term academic goals, advance the mission of the faculty, and make strategic decisions that shape the academic direction.
  • Academic Management: Strong management skills in overseeing departments, coordinating curriculum development, promoting academic research, and fostering an environment of academic excellence.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
