Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Collection Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with customers to collect arrears, ensuring that due process is followed and customers are treated fairly.

The job involves calling customers daily to inform them about their overdue or upcoming dues and negotiate repayment plans. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, ability to negotiate and a good understanding of systems.

We require the selected individual to possess a minimum of 1-3 years' experience in banking or a similar field, incorporating continuous customer engagement and dealing with target-oriented roles. They should also be able to work under pressure and remain customer-focused at all times.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Following up on assigned accounts/work queue to contact customers, inform them about their overdue/upcoming dues and get them to pay and regularize their repayments.
  • Achieving performance targets communicated by the Team Leader.
  • Making calls to customers from assigned recorded lines, updating customer interactions on the collection system.
  • Collecting full overdue payments or negotiating repayment plans when necessary.
  • Identifying potential skips and fraud cases and escalating irregularities to the attention of the Team Leader.
  • Focusing on resolving and responding to customer queries.
  • Initiating settlement negotiations to recover delinquent balances.
  • Updating customer contact details in Finn1 and informing customers how to make changes.
  • Highlighting problems or trends encountered during routine collections to the Team Leader for possible solutions.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Good communication skills and ability to negotiate.
  • Understanding of systems such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Basis understanding of legal framework.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain customer-focused.
