Database Management Professional

As a key player in our organization's data management strategy, this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our databases. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining database performance, resolving complex issues, and implementing effective capacity management strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer databases across various platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
  • Identify and resolve critical database-related problems to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor system parameters to optimize performance and resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement data growth plans to ensure seamless scalability.
  • Design and configure high-availability SQL environments using Always On availability groups.
  • Analyze system resilience through capacity planning, growth analysis, and failover testing.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve database performance and streamline deployments.
  • Evaluate and manage monitoring and alerting tools for on-prem and cloud-based SQL environments.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in database administration with expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL.
  • Proficient in Always On availability groups, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, profiling, and performance tuning tools.
  • Experience with SSIS, BIDS/SSDT, and query optimization.
  • Strong understanding of MSSQL and database management systems.
  • Knowledge of physical database design principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Background in supporting databases in healthcare IT is a plus.
