Database Administrator Job Description

  • This role involves being responsible for the daily maintenance of databases, as well as performing SQL Server/MySQL/Mongo/Redis development work for reporting and optimization of table structures.
  • The successful candidate will be focused on Database Administration and SQL development activities for both MySQL and SQL Server databases, with extra skills in Mongo or NoSQL knowledge considered beneficial.
  • They will support and maintain the existing database infrastructure, provide standby, on-call, and support for MySQL/SQL Server databases, and have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to write clear documents and effectively respond to diverse needs is also essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum 3-year BS degree in Computers or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in database and development environment (Linux) as well as competence in MS Office Suite, Visio, MS Project.
  • Excellent logical analysis skills and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
  • Attention to detail, high levels of initiative, and ability to work independently with a high degree of responsibility are also expected.
