Accounting Expert

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Expert to join our team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry & Account Reconciliation: Process financial transactions, maintain general ledger accuracy, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • VAT & Accounts: Prepare value-added tax (VAT) returns, manage VAT calculations, and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
  • Tax Return Preparation: Collaborate with the tax team to prepare accurate and timely corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Junior Support & Mentorship: Review and mentor junior staff on accounting processes, VAT calculations, and tax return preparation.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist with the creation of financial reports, analyze trends, and provide insights to management.
  • Stay Current on Regulations: Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and relevant industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • CA or ACCA qualified accountant.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working remotely with a UK-based accounting firm.
  • Proven proficiency in accounting software including Xero, FreeAgent and VT.
  • Strong understanding of VAT, accounting principles, and UK tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • A proactive and results-oriented team player with a positive attitude.
  • Experience using video conferencing and collaboration tools for remote work is a plus.
