Security Information and Event Management Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in implementing and managing SIEM solutions, monitoring and analyzing security threats, and developing threat intelligence into actionable security recommendations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of SIEM solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the security posture of the company, and continuously fine-tuning security solutions to reduce false positives and negatives.

They will also be responsible for analyzing security event data, identifying potential threats, and providing technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of SIEM technology and implementation experience
  • Expertise in TCP/IP networking and major protocols such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, SMTP
  • Experience with several SIEM technologies, vulnerability scanning tools, file integrity monitoring, and data loss protection
  • Development of security scripts in PowerShell or Python
  • Network stream analysis using PCAP data and packet reconstruction
  • Experience executing on defined Incident Response Frameworks and Handling Procedures
  • Current knowledge of security threats, solutions, and network technologies
  • Understanding of information security and compliance regulations
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Excellent documentation skills
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT related discipline
  • Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience in information security, auditing, or risk management
