We are seeking a talented Project Officer to join our team in Food and Agriculture. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects that improve food security and livelihoods in rural areas.

Job Description

The Project Officer will work closely with the FAO Representative in Pakistan to develop and implement projects that align with the organization's Strategic Framework. This includes coordinating with various stakeholders, including government officials, external consultants, and other parties.

  • The Project Officer will lead field missions to assess project needs and provide guidance to external consultants and government officials.
  • He/She will also coordinate with the Food Security Cluster/sector/group and relevant FAO units to support emergency response and resource mobilization efforts.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:

  • An advanced university degree in business or public administration, agricultural economics, development economics, rural sociology, food security, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in project or programme management, administration, technical cooperation's related activities, policy advice and analysis relating to food and nutrition security, agriculture and rural development, monitoring and evaluation of policies and projects.
  • A working knowledge (proficiency – level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency – level B) of one of the other FAO official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
