We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Lead/ Head with deep expertise in Node.js to own backend architecture, mentor the engineering team, and drive backend innovation across projects.

This role involves leading and managing the backend development team working on Node.JS-based applications.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and backend services.

  • Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and team workflows.

  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features.

  • Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and refactoring for reliability and scalability.

  • Architect microservices and handle system integrations efficiently.

  • Ensure system uptime, security, and stability in a production environment.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to enhance their technical and professional growth.

  • 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3 years in Node.js.

  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architecture.

  • Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.).

  • Experience with containerized deployments (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, EKS) and scalable backend architecture.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
