Business Development Role
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to develop and execute business development strategies that drive growth and improvement in our attainment of business. This role requires a deep understanding of customers' shipping requirements to provide customized services, encompassing logistics and distribution.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in sales and business development within the ocean freight domain. Key responsibilities include:
- Building Strong Relationships: Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Timely Complaint Resolution: Respond promptly to customer complaints and enquiries.
- Customer Portfolio Management: Manage and retain defined customer portfolios.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and execute sales plans to achieve target budgets.
- Negotiation Skills: Negotiate contractual terms with customers aligned to corporate sales policy and procedures.
- Presentation Skills: Deliver high-quality presentations of our products and services to potential customers.
- Sales Call Planning: Plan, prepare, and realize sales calls for better customer retention and new business acquisition.
- Credit Assessment: Secure necessary information to assess credit worthiness of potential customers.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct surveys and gather market intelligence to assess potential business prospects and review competitor behavior.
This role requires a minimum 4-6 years of working experience in field sales at freight forwarding. The ideal candidate should have a broad understanding of trade lane specifics, deep knowledge of ocean freight and logistics business models, and a Master's degree in a relevant field.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations and negotiate sales effectively.
- Excellent Communication: Strong communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
Requirements
- Minimum 4-6 years of working experience in field sales at freight forwarding.
