Lead Security Engineer - Job Description

  • The Lead Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit-defensible methods across various technical areas and business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs and executes innovative security solutions, including development and troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to solve complex technical problems.
  • Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
  • Minimizes security vulnerabilities by following industry best practices and regulations, continuously evolving security protocols, and creating processes to evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and business leaders to understand security needs and recommend modifications during vulnerabilities.
  • Conducts discovery, vulnerability, penetration testing, and threat scenario analysis on organizational assets to identify vulnerabilities and executes threat modeling for multiple applications, including external applications interacting with JPMorgan Chase networks.
  • Contributes to fostering a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in Security Engineering concepts and at least 5+ years of practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data and large-volume data transfer analysis.
  • Proficiency with Spark, Iceberg, Parquet, and related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Deep understanding of software applications and technical processes, with expertise in one or more disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile).
  • Ability to independently address design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight.

  • Effective communication skills with senior business leaders.
  • Practical experience with cloud-native development.
  • Educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
