Optometry and Orthoptics Educator

We are seeking an exceptional educator to join our academic team as a Lecturer in Optometry/Orthoptics. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong teaching, research, and leadership skills.
About the Role
This position involves teaching assigned courses to students, developing innovative teaching strategies, and facilitating experiential learning. The successful candidate will also supervise student projects, set and assess coursework, and provide feedback to students. Additionally, they will contribute to the planning of teaching programs and maintain records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation.
Main Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning.
- Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements.
- Set, mark, and assess coursework and provide feedback to students.
- Maintain records of students' academic performance for internal evaluation.
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong passion for teaching and learning, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also have a commitment to delivering high-quality education and contributing to the development of your students. A PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is required, and experience in teaching and research is highly desirable.
