Operations Manager

About the Job
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of non-production areas, labour and safety, security, and sanitation conditions within the organization. This role requires leadership and management skills to achieve maximum economy and efficiency while meeting projected plans on time.

Main Responsibilities
This position involves running the department under labour laws smoothly and administratively, monitoring policies and procedures as laid down by the organization, and maintaining amicable relationships with staff and workmen. The Operations Manager must also ensure the highest degree of performance both qualitative and quantitative and promote dignity of work.

Additional Duties
The Operations Manager will be responsible for arranging notice boards at the main entrance for display purposes, attending court proceedings on behalf of management, preparing monthly stationary requisition summaries, and managing factory accounts efficiently. This includes handling matters pertaining to the company's ordinance and other applicable laws, arranging transportation for staff, and maintaining custody of legal and corporate documents.

External Dealing and Communication
This role involves contacting foreign agencies and various government departments to obtain necessary permits and licenses. The Operations Manager will need to coordinate with different organizations to resolve issues related to labour laws, trade licenses, and environmental regulations.

Canteen Management
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the service of meals to employees during lunch and tea breaks, purchasing daily grocery items, and managing canteen facilities. This includes supervising cooking staff, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring proper food storage.

Transportation and Logistics
This role involves managing contract vehicles, scheduling van privileges, coordinating with drivers, and negotiating with contractors. The Operations Manager will also oversee loading vehicles, arrange for diesel, and schedule oil changes.

Water Management
The Operations Manager is responsible for monitoring water levels in the underground tank, forecasting water requirements, and coordinating with water suppliers. This includes ensuring proper water supply and coordinating with the finance department for payments.

Attendance and Record-Keeping
This role involves taking daily attendance of workers, maintaining records of attendance and late arrivals, and submitting reports to management.

Communication and Housekeeping
The Operations Manager is responsible for dispatching outgoing mail, submitting incoming mail and letters to management, receiving incoming mail, and maintaining a register of received mail. Additionally, this role involves supervising housekeeping staff, scheduling tasks, planning extra duties on holidays, and preparing budgets for housekeeping materials.

Key Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require excellent leadership and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and a strong understanding of labour laws and regulations. You should also have experience in operations management, logistics, and customer service.
