**Import and Export Manager Role**

About the Job

This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in import/export operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing cross-functional teams, developing import/export strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Import/Export Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement import/export plans to meet business objectives, including market research, supplier evaluation, and logistics management.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion of import/export documentation, including customs forms, invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage international suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish partnerships.
  • Cost Management and Budgeting: Analyze import/export costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and develop budgets to ensure cost-effective procurement and logistics operations.
  • Inventory Management and Stock Control: Coordinate with production and inventory teams to forecast demand, ensure timely availability of imported raw materials and components, and implement inventory control measures.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure imported raw materials and components meet quality standards and specifications, conduct supplier audits, and mitigate risks associated with import/export operations.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop the import/export team, provide guidance, training, and performance feedback, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in import/export operations, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices.
  • Experience in managing import/export documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, and shipping processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in import/export software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership skills and ability to lead a multicultural team.
