About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the cleaning and maintenance of our facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a hygienic, safe, and healthy work environment by supervising housekeeping activities, maintaining awareness of cleanliness standards, and inspecting hygiene and sanitation practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cleaning Supervision: Ensure proper cleanliness according to defined standards.
  2. Awareness and Monitoring: Constantly monitor the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the facilities.
  3. Hygiene and Sanitation Inspection: Ensure assigned areas meet defined standards.
  4. Compliance and Procedures: Ensure housekeeping staff work in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  5. Cleanliness Supplies Management: Ensure all cleaning supplies are available and appropriately labeled for assigned areas.
  6. Shift Management and Safety: Ensure shift management is handled properly and safety procedures are considered when mixing chemicals.
  7. Infection Control and Safety: Maintain safety and infection control standards.
  8. Material Arrangement and Project Work: Arrange materials used for cleaning from the housekeeping store and coordinate project work and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
  9. Staff Coverage and Reporting: Arrange adequate staff coverage in all areas by distributing staff efficiently on a daily basis and prepare daily supervisory inspection reports.
  10. Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training to the staff.
  11. Maintenance and Safety Issues: Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance/Engineering Department and document any observed safety hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices and procedures.
Requirements:
  1. Intermediate Qualification: With at least 1 year of relevant field experience.
  2. Knowledge of Hygiene and Sanitation: Knowledge of hygiene, sanitary standards, and fumigation.
  3. Leadership and Motivation: Ability to control, discipline, and motivate staff.
  4. Housekeeping Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of housekeeping work procedures and equipment.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems.
  7. Physical Fitness: Physically fit – the role requires continuous rounds in the assigned area.
