Backend Development Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong expertise in designing and developing scalable and maintainable backend services, APIs, and databases that support our EHR system and Healthcare IT applications.

About the Role

This full-time remote position involves collaborating with front-end developers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to build secure, efficient, and high-performance solutions.

  • We need someone who can design and develop large-scale web applications with a strong focus on security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining database schemas, designing database queries, and efficiently retrieving data from MongoDB.
  • We're looking for someone with experience in writing reusable and modular code in Java or Node.js, integrating it with other systems and applications, and developing automated testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with XML/JSON-based web services, API design, and HTTP principles is essential.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases that support the EHR system and Healthcare IT applications.
  • Create and review Java programs and systems, ensuring appropriate documentation is utilized in information systems projects.
  • Understand and work with MongoDB, RESTful APIs, OAuth, JSON, and relevant technologies like HIPAA.
  • Research, test, benchmark, and evaluate new technology to solve complex problems at scale.
  • Perform post-implementation reviews to ensure project objectives were achieved.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development with strong expertise in Java or Node.js.
  • Experience in database design and development with MongoDB, with knowledge of PostgreSQL a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data security and privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Experience with FHIR is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of coding systems including LOINC, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and SNOMED-CT.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
