Duties
  • Verify patient identification to ensure test requirements are fulfilled.
  • Perform accurate vein puncture procedures to collect blood samples.
  • Label each patient's sample container before collection according to protocols.
  • Maintain safety precautions, disposing of sharp objects properly and keeping a clean work area.
  • Explain phlebotomy procedures to patients for special and routine lab tests.
Requirements
  • Matriculation or Intermediate degree required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in venipuncture on adult and paediatric patients necessary.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Good command of phlebotomy procedures and knowledge of collection containers needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills essential.
  • Ability to work in shift duties required.
