Job Description:

The role of Senior Purchaser involves overseeing the procurement cycle for site-specific goods and services, ensuring that daily needs and transactional activities are executed in accordance with company policies and Procurement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Senior Purchasers will lead the operational management of procurement activities at the site, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This includes requisition review, supplier selection, purchase order creation, expediting, and invoice processing.

  • This position requires a team leader to manage site-based Buyers and Expeditors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure timely and accurate completion of procurement activities.
Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage a team of site-based Buyers and Expeditors to achieve procurement objectives.
  2. Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet business needs and drive value.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize sourcing opportunities.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to foster open communication and collaboration.
  5. Provide training and support to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team, preferably in a procurement or supply chain environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to effectively engage with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness to navigate diverse stakeholder groups.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive procurement innovation.
  • Experience with SAP and Ariba is highly desirable but not essential.
