">Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Gender Integration and Capacity Building:
    • Develop and implement gender-sensitive capacity strengthening plans for flood forecasting and early warning systems at government agencies.
    • Collaborate with international consultants to support data collection for gender assessments and provide facilitation in administering research tools in the field.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather insights for administering research tools.
    • Deliver gender-responsive training workshops to empower women's participation in flood preparedness and response activities.
    • Facilitate gender assessment processes by engaging with communities to collect data on gender barriers faced by vulnerable groups.
    • Develop and deliver inclusive, gender-responsive training modules and technical guidelines on disaster risk management, impact-based forecasting, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, and anticipatory actions.
  • Risk Assessment and Technical Assistance:
    • Integrate gender and protection-related indicators into risk assessment tools.
    • Build gender technical inputs into technical assistance plans for government departments.
  • Gender Sensitive Anticipatory Action (AA) and Protocol Development:
    • Integrate gender considerations into the development of AA protocols for flash flooding in Shangla and Buner districts.
    • Support the creation of an anticipatory action beneficiary database.
    • Collaborate with government stakeholders to develop and institutionalize AA protocols and triggers for flood events.
    • Design and implement simulation exercises to test and validate AA protocols and triggers embedding a gender and disability inclusion lens.
  • Impact-Based Forecasting (IBF) and Gender Responsive Risk Communication:
    • Develop risk matrices for IBF through stakeholder consultations.
    • Conduct local-level risk and vulnerability assessments.
    • Generate gender-friendly, actionable advisories based on IBF products for stakeholders.
    • Help develop gender responsive risk communication strategies to ensure timely dissemination of early warning information to vulnerable communities.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with project management units, implementation units, and district coordination groups.
    • Collaborate with other GCF projects and initiatives to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Knowledge Management:
    • Monitor the implementation of gender-inclusive AA and IBF activities.
    • Prepare regular progress reports and document lessons learned and best practices.
