Job Title: Senior MySQL Database Administrator

 

Job Description:

This role is seeking a highly experienced MySQL and infrastructure expert to help build a large-scale SEO SaaS platform.

We are looking for an individual who can set up a 4-node MySQL Cluster (Group Replication or InnoDB Cluster) on dedicated servers running Ubuntu 22.04.

The selected candidate will be responsible for securely and efficiently importing over 150 TB of compressed JSON data from Google Cloud Storage into the MySQL cluster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy a production-ready MySQL Cluster on 4 Ubuntu servers.
  • Set up secure, highly available networking with auto-failover and data redundancy across all nodes.
  • Optimize the MySQL setup for high-throughput JSON ingestion, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Build a secure, resumable, and parallel data ingestion pipeline from Google Cloud Storage to MySQL.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and robust documentation of all steps and infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience configuring production-grade MySQL clusters.
  • Deep understanding of MySQL replication, high availability, and failover.
  • Experience ingesting or transforming massive JSON datasets.
  • Proficient in GCS CLI tools and cloud-to-server secure data transfer.
  • Solid background in Linux system administration.
  • Strong grasp of security best practices.
  • Excellent skills in documentation, testing, and communication.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with MySQL Router, ProxySQL, or Vitess.
  • Familiarity with Percona XtraBackup or mysqlpump.
  • Monitoring stack: Prometheus + Grafana.
  • Prior experience with Hetzner servers or bare-metal infrastructure.
