Job Title: Senior Taxation Specialist

Description:

The role of the Senior Taxation Specialist is to provide expert advice and guidance on all tax-related matters. This includes corporate income tax, sales tax, and transaction advisory in M&A projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a solid understanding of the company's digital transformation and its impact on the way business is conducted.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop a thorough understanding of the company's digital transformation and its impact on the business.
2. Establish relationships with colleagues and share information to achieve common goals.
3. Provide strategic thinking and input to support all tax saving initiatives.
4. Have a comprehensive understanding of ongoing M&A projects and propose transaction structures.
5. Lead Merger and Acquisition projects and provide tax-efficient structures, analysis, and advisory.
6. Manage direct tax planning initiatives, handle tax forecasting, and cashflows.
7. Drive change and tax awareness across the organization.
8. Analyze taxation on major projects and provide in-depth business-oriented tax advice to internal stakeholders.
9. Manage tax accounting, reporting, and handle all audit matters related to taxation.
10. Develop strategies for central and provincial tax audits and litigation, as well as maintaining relationships with authorities.
11. Take a leadership position in driving decisions across the industry.
12. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including divisional/departmental heads and all functions of the company, for effective planning and advisory.
13. Bring innovative thinking and efficiency to taxation.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification (CA, ACCA) with at least 10 years of experience, including 5 years in the telecom industry.
• Data analysis skills to review and analyze data and extract meaningful insights.
• Data presentation skills to present data and make informed decisions.
• Advanced communication skills to manage cross-functional projects.
• Membership of a professional accounting body with 5+ years of experience in corporate taxation, tax planning, transaction advisory, and team handling.
• Extensive knowledge of corporate taxation, tax planning, and leading the tax point of view in all M&A projects.
• Strong business acumen.
• A clear understanding of customer-centric approaches.
• In-depth knowledge of stakeholder management.
