Hardware Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics hardware design and development, with a focus on embedded systems and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Electronic Hardware: Design and develop electronic hardware for embedded systems and industrial applications.
  • Select Components: Select components based on performance, cost, and availability considerations.
  • Create and Review Schematics: Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using Altium, KiCad, or Eagle.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure power management, signal integrity, and compliance with EMI/EMC standards.
  • Validate and Test: Conduct hardware validation, testing, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and production teams for seamless system integration.
  • Maintain Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation (design files, test reports, and user manuals).
  • Support Prototype Development: Support prototype development and transition designs from concept to mass production.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Schematic Design and PCB Layout Tools: Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, etc.).
  • Microcontrollers and Circuits: Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, analog/digital circuits, power electronics, and signal processing.
  • Debugging Tools: Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.).
  • EMI/EMC Standards: Familiarity with EMI/EMC compliance standards and design best practices.
  • DFM and DFT: Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Testability).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in electronics hardware design and development.
